Carrie + Ben | Calamigos Ranch Wedding | Malibu, California

Angela and I photographed and shot Super 8 at this stunning wedding at Malibu’s Calamigos Ranch this past weekend with San Francisco based lawyer Carrie Richey and her fiancé, famed street artist Ben Eine (Ben was just chosen to collaborate with Louis Vuiton on some projects).  Thanks to the always lovely Carole Grogan of Bright Blue Events for designing and coordinating such an amazing event.  Invitations and sign designed by Ben Eine.  Carrie’s dress by Claire Pettibone.  Shoes by Manolo Blahnik.  Flowers by Lotus & Lily.  Cake by Cake Divas.  Furniture rentals by Found Vintage Rentals.  Chandeliers by Melrose Chandelier.  Reception DJ by DJ Nahchey.  Photography:  Digital.  Motion:  Silent Super 8 film (blog post coming soon…).  Fun fact:  Carrie caught the bouquet several years ago at a wedding we photographed on Catalina Island!

All images on this blog are Copyright © David Savinski | Capture Forever and cannot be used for any commercial purposes without written permission.

Carole brought a bunch of vintage photo frames so we set up a mini Photo Bo0th and let guests have at them:
The majority of our work is booked through word of mouth.  If you like our work here, please feel free to share the link for Carrie and Ben’s wedding:  http://blog.captureforever.com/archives/3576 on your facebook pages.  Also come over to our non-intrusive (we’re not rabid facebook screamers) Capture Forever facebook page and like us for occasional updates.

Joy + Greg’s Super 8 Wedding Film | El Monte Sagrado Wedding | Taos, New Mexico

Here’s Joy and Greg’s authentic Super 8 wedding film from their wedding at El Monte Sagrado in Taos, New Mexico.  Super 8 was added on as an addition to their still photography.  In addition to film and digital still photography, Angela and I used real silent Super 8 motion picture film for Joy and Greg’s wedding (The Wonder Years style!).  Flowers and design by Andrea Soorikian.  Hair and makeup by Stephanie Brenan.  Cake by Tree House Pastry Shop.  Stationary by The Green Kangaroo.  Live band performance by Nashville’s Matt McAtee and the Eventuals.  Special guest appearance by Daisy the Rottweiler (who was an absolute sweetheart).  Music in the film is “Through the Winter” by The Woodlands and “I’ve Got you Covered” by Matt McAtee (who performed live at the wedding and makes a cameo).  If you missed seeing their wedding photographs click here.  Enjoy the film!

Childhood Cancer | Flashes of Hope | Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

One of our recent community projects is volunteering with Flashes of Hope, a non-profit organization whose goal is to photograph every child with cancer until every child is cured.  We photographed this beautiful group of kids at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.  Nobody I have ever seen through the lens of my camera is as striking as these children.  Their energy and attitudes, despite their opposition was incredible.  Again, please visit Flashes of Hope to send any donation you can.  The families receive prints of every photograph captured of their child.

Joy + Greg | El Monte Sagrado Wedding | Taos, New Mexico

Joy and Greg celebrated their marriage with a winter themed wedding at El Monte Sagrado in Taos, New Mexico.  The good news is Taos and El Monte Sagrado are still amazingly beautiful in the winter without snow because we missed a snow storm by one day!  Angela and I used film photography and Super 8 motion picture film for the majority of the wedding and digital photography for the low light reception.  Flowers and design by Andrea Soorikian.  Hair and makeup by Stephanie Brenan.  Cake by Tree House Pastry Shop.  Stationary by The Green Kangaroo.  Live band performance by Nashville’s Matt McAtee and the Eventuals.  Special guest appearance by Daisy the Rottweiler.  If you’d like to see Joy and Greg’s Super 8 wedding film we produced, click here.
I love this moment captured on Kodak 3200 black and white film.
