Hannah and Alex | High Cliff State Park | Wisconsin Film Photography

I recently spent a few wonderful (and very short) days in my hometown of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.  Along with getting my fill of mom’s cooking and grilling burgers (smoked with cherry wood chips) I did a few photoshoots including my niece and nephew Hannah and Alex and a photoshoot with the first person to take me flying which can be seen by clicking here.  For Hannah and Alex’s photo shoot we went up to High Cliff State Park on the north side of Lake Winnebago (Oshkosh sits on the west side of the lake).

We would be honored for you to pin or re-post these images on non-commercial sites only with proper credit given.  If you would like to license any images please contact us.

Julia + Jon | Four Seasons Biltmore Santa Barbara Wedding | Authentic Super 8mm Wedding Film

Julia + Jon celebrated their wedding at the Four Seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara, California.  This was their 2nd attempt at getting married as the couple was originally supposed to have a Four Seasons Hualalai wedding in Hawaii but it was during the weekend of the great Japan earthquake which sent a devastating tsunami toward Hawaii. Their tsunami shaped wedding cake made by Cake Divas was an homage to this event.  Julia, the owner of Switch Boutique in Beverly Hills fell in love with the style of authentic Super 8mm film for her wedding.  Jonulia’s (as the couple likes to be called ;-)) wedding was coordinated by the fabulous Mindy Weiss Party Consultants with Kristen and Cassie.  Julia wore Vera Wang over Jimmy Choo.  Bridal hair and makeup by Seama of Nine Zero One Salon.  Bridesmaid dresses by Halston.  Jewelry by XIV Karats Beverly Hills.  Groom suit and shoes by Gucci.  Lighting and drapings by Bella Vista.  Chuppah by Happy Chuppah.  Chairs by Chiavari Chairs 4 Rent.  DJ was Aaron Massey.  Photobooth by Shutterbooth.  Special thanks to Vidicam Productions and the Best Dog Bailey. Enjoy the film:

These are still images pulled from the actual Super 8 wedding film. I’ve mentioned before how each of these images would make an amazing enlargement (just like the first black and white image of Julia posted below). Angela and I love these so much we’re officially adding these unique Super 8mm tapestries as an option. How amazing would this look hanging on the wall as a fine art print or canvas?

Tahitian & Hula Dancers in the New Mexico Desert | Albuquerque & Santa Fe Film Photography

How’s this for juxtaposition?!  Angela and I were recently in Albuquerque and Santa Fe for some fun wedding industry meetings so while there we did a photoshoot with a group of Hula & Tahitian dancers led by Angela’s mother Patsy (who was born in Hawaii).  My first thought from a production standpoint was:  “huh we’re in the high desert and we’re photographing Hawaiian dancers…..let’s emphasize that difference and photograph them right in the middle of the desert!”  After scouting around a bit we found the perfect location.  I wanted something that emphasized the natural beauty of the New Mexico high desert that provided depth and layers without being over intrusive.

Los Poblanos | Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, New Mexico Film Photography

Angela and I had a wonderful trip today to the Los Poblanos Historic Inn and Cultural Center in the Los Ranchos neighborhood of Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Tomorrow we’re heading to a wedding industry lunch put on by PWGNM in Santa Fe.

Here’s a quick photograph taken on the border of Arizona and New Mexico during our road trip.  This rainbow, like all moments, was quickly fleeting.  I was able to pull over on the highway with just enough time to capture three photographs before the sun disappeared behind rain clouds.

Monica and Shannon Brown | Vibiana Wedding

Check out this video! I make several cameo appearances while photographing Monica and Shannon Brown’s wedding at the Vibiana in Downtown Los Angeles. You can see me at :08 seconds “Where’s Waldo” style walking in the lower left and again at 1:27 and 1:36 (upper right corner taking pictures of the couple).  You can also follow this link to see the video on The Insider.  I was the 2nd photographer for Monica and Shannon’s wedding for a big studio in Los Angeles.  Gotta have a few more years under my belt before I’m the primary on a celebrity wedding.  It was an absolute honor to be asked to be a part of this amazing wedding.

John Shaffner and Joe Stewart | Los Angeles Photography

This isn’t wedding related but it’s cool none-the-less!  Just had my second photoshoot with John Shaffner and Joe Stewart, the owners of Shaffner Stewart Production Design.  Together they design sets for shows like Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Conan and The Emmy Awards.  John is also the Chairman and CEO of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (Emmys).  I originally photographed John for an editorial piece and he invited me back to photograph more images!
